Support for carers

North Shore Surgery patients have access to a wealth of local and national support available to them.

Local Services

  • Social Prescribing Link Workers – North Shore Surgery’s own social prescribing link workers, who are part of the Blackpool North Primary Care Network, offer a range of support for carers. This includes the BFriend programme, which offers to provide much-needed respite for some carers as well as the opportunity to join one of their ‘Friendship’ groups.
  • Blackpool Carers Centre – Offering an extensive range of age-specific services and support for carers from ages 5 to 105

National Services

  • NHS Support for carers – Including carer’s assessments, support from local councils, respite care, and help for young carers
  • Carers UK Organisation – Offering expert advice, support, and campaigns to make life better for carers
  • Carers Trust – Offering the tools needed to transform the lives of unpaid carers through innovative programmes of work and providing specialist resources for professionals
